Description
The artist, Kay Kiyoko Kim, 94, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died in Pearl City on June 17, 2020. She was born in Hamakua, Hawaii.
I have owned this painting for approximately 10 years. Before that, it was owned by Kay’s younger brother Toshio (my grandfather-in-law) for 40+ years. It was given to Toshio directly by Kay.
Grandpa was a cigarette smoker and sometimes smoked in the house. The painting needs to be cleaned up in places, but I don’t have the skills and knowledge to do so myself. You can’t really notice it until you get really close to the painting and then you see that there are spots that are a little dirty. I tried to capture that in the pictures as best I could.
