Description
I bought this Vintage Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Wheel in an Antique shop in Milwaukee back in the late 1990’s.
This Prayer Wheel contains the original Scroll inside, pictured. It is made of Brass and Copper with Wooden Handle. It shows normal signs of use and aging, but is in good condition.
Tibetan Prayer wheels are used to accumulate wisdom and merit (good karma) and to purify negativities (bad karma).
Inside the prayer wheel is a scroll containing the Tibetan Mantra Om Madi Padme Hum. The more that the Mantra is spun the more merit is accumulated.
It is best to turn the wheel with a gentle rhythm and not too fast or frantically. While turning smoothly, one keeps in mind the motivation and spirit of compassion.
